Surprise, surprise. After the last 12 months of bullet dodging regarding the so-called Manchester payments, the government is pushing a new bill that will triple the current amount of personal “gifts” that politicians do not have to declare. In my opinion, if you put yourself in the public eye and you want public respect and trust then you need to disclose everything so that you have nothing to hide. Creating legislation to protect payments made to you just looks like you have an awful lot to hide. Remind me again why we constantly vote in this shower of selfish b**tards? source: Irish Times
