Statoil announced yesterday that it is to sell its Irish operation. Bad news I’m sure for the Irish petroleum market with ever-increasing prices and what would appear to be price controlling measures that keep costs high and competition low. Interestingly enough I have seen Statoil fuel lorries providing stock to the Tesco petrol station in Waterford, I wonder how this will effect what is most often then cheapest pump price in the county… source: Irish Times
