Another 26.2 miles of charity

  • by

Those of you who know me will know that I like to raise a bit of cash now and then for different charities and may well recall that I decided to torture myself with a marathon a few years back, in aid of the local hospice facility.

Well, I’ve decided to do the same again this year, Dublin Marathon, with the proceeds going towards the Irish Heart Foundation (IHF). The IHF do a lot of good work with respect to supporting research, providing education and training in the area of heart problems and stroke. Heart disease is currently Ireland’s biggest killer and stroke is affecting over 10,000 people a year. I believe it to be a very worthy charity that is reliant on donations for 90% of its funding.

The race is on October 25th and I would be much obliged if you would consider sponsoring me for the event – no donation is too small or any less appreciated. You can visit my MyCharity.ie page and donate online at http://www.mycharity.ie/event/jbrazil2010/ (this is a highly reputable 3rd party service that collects money and sends it directly to the intended charity).

Thanks in advance!
