Looks like our beloved leader is set to get his fifth pay rise in six months. Somebody please explain this one to me!! This raise alone is reported to be in the region of Eur 5500 and will supposedly bring the overall salary to in excess of Eur 250K. Where is the justice in that? Perhaps it’s time for a reform of the political salary scales – it’s starting to give a false impression of Ireland if these wages are averaged with those in the private sector. Let’s just say that there is a wee difference in magnitude there. source: Irish Times
