Yup rest and relaxation were the order of the day again this weekend. Siân and I made a break for Kinnitty Castle just outside Birr, Co. Offally. Wonderful place and definitely worth visiting. We were there about 2 years ago also and had no hesitations in returning again, indeed we look forward to another visit sometime in the future. The castle was rebuilt in the early part of the last century from its original foundations (c. 1209). Complete with haunted rooms and a regular ghost monk who appears frequently in the castle grounds, the castle is full of atmosphere and enchantment that will make any stay, very pleasant. Well I’m relaxed again so it’s time to get back into the swing of work.
